Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we offer an affordable option for counselling because we’re committed to making counseling accessible to as many people as possible. If you’re looking for a reduced cost, especially if you do not have insurance coverage, you can make an appointment with one of our supervised clinical counselling interns on staff. Our interns are supervised by a registered clinical counsellor, which means you’ll receive quality counselling but at a reduced rate of $50/session.

No, we do not offer direct billing at this time. Our clinical counsellors are registered with either BCACC, RSW, or CPCA, which are approved by most major insurance plans. Some clinicians may be CVAP and/or FNHA-registered. Always check your specific insurance plan for eligibility details.

We use the Jane app.Once you register, you will be able to book a consultation or schedule with a clinical counsellor of your choosing. We will email you to complete an intake form prior to your phone call. Your clinical counsellor will speak to you about your goals and they can answer any questions you have.

Occasionally, counsellors may run a few minutes behind schedule to give each client the time and attention they need to feel fully ready when their session concludes. Your patience is appreciated, and they will be out as soon as they’re available.

We understand that things come up. However, please provide 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee.

We also book appointments a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Yes, we have limited parking available. There is free 2-hour street parking, but parking on E Broadway is only until 3 p.m.

Counselling can help with challenges around personal, mental health, goals, and family. It can range from short to long term therapy depending on your life demands and hopes.

Yes, your conversations with our team of clinical counsellors are confidential. There are exceptions to confidentiality when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, abuse or neglect to vulnerable populations, and court orders.

If you are receiving counselling from one of our supervised interns, the interns may also discuss your case with their supervisor to provide you with the best care possible.

We understand that family legal proceedings can be complex. Legal-related therapy services are assessed case-by-case to ensure that our therapists can meet the needs for your family, including availability, specialization, and reporting requirements. It is essential that both parties will maintain a supportive, consistent, and collaborative environment with the child’s wellbeing as the top priority. Please contact us for this service before booking with a therapist.
